As Chair of the House Economics Committee, John Alexander MP has instigated an inquiry into the price of housing in Australia. Evidence is being gathered throughout the coming months, and below is an interview held before the Sydney sessions on the 6th August.
This will look at a broad range of matters including the proportion of investment vs owner-occupied housing, demand and supply drivers, and opportunities for reform.
It is important that the great Australian dream of home ownership is not pushed outside the reach of first home buyers, whilst those who have worked and saved hard to own a piece of our country can continue to enjoy a stable policy environment.
All members of the public are invited to make submissions and contribute to this important inquiry. Please contact my office for more information.
