The ninth annual Hyundai Bennelong Cup Schools’ Table Tennis competition was held today at a new venue, the Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre.

JA is joined by local Paralympic table tennis champion Jessy Chen, and (L-R) Wheelchair Sports NSW CEO Mick Garnett, JA, Macquarie University’s Sport and Aquatic Centre’s Luke Cevolani, event organiser Andrew Hill of, Wheelchair Sports’ Pat Curtin, and participating students.

This year’s event was launched by local Paralympic table tennis champion Jessy Chen. He claimed the Oceania Para Championship title last year and is looking to join the Australian Paralympics team heading to the Tokyo Paralympic Games in 2020 – good luck Jessy! Mick Garnett, CEO of Wheelchair Sports NSW, was also in attendance.

Congratulations to the winners, and participants.

I started this event to promote engagement between young people from many different backgrounds, through a shared love of sport and competition.

A big thank you again to Andrew Hill of AJH Sports Marsfield and Table Tennis NSW for running another hugely successful event.
