Bennelong MP John Alexander welcomed the Federal Health Minister, the Hon Sussan Ley MP to Bennelong this week to celebrate innovation in the local pharmaceutical industry.
The Government’s recently announced National Innovation and Science Agenda, which included $250 million for the translation of medical research, the Minister said companies like Novartis will play a pivotal role in the economy as it transitions to a greater focus on innovation.
The Minister toured a number of local institutions including the world class Royal Rehab hospital, Macquarie University and opened the new Novartis headquarters in Macquarie Park. She also joined 450 people for the Bennelong Health Innovation Forum hosted by Medicine Australia.
The Minister began her speech by praising the work of Mr Alexander and his “dedicated” and “determined” support for the pharmaceutical industry based in the Bennelong electorate.
