$1.5 BILLION INFRASTRUCTURE STIMULUS TO DRIVE RECOVERY IN BENNELONG. I was joined in Bennelong recently by Prime Minister Scott Morrison (ScoMo), Premier Gladys Berejiklian and other federal and state ministers to announce the roll out of this infrastructure stimulus package.

Projects that will now proceed thanks to this new funding include:

1. Bus Priority Improvements – Lane Cove Road and Waterloo Road Intersection;

2. Bus Priority Improvements – Epping Road and Herring Road; and

3. Intersection Improvements – Devlin Street, Blaxland Road and Parkes Street

NSW will be co-funding these projects 50-50.

Getting shovels in the ground on local construction projects are critically important for maintaining jobs and economic growth in our area.

These types of infrastructure projects will also be particularly crucial for helping us bounce back after the COVID-19 crisis has ended by ensuring we have the safe transport connections needed for all Australians to keep moving. ... See MoreSee Less

Tax time means tax relief! Useful information for you below.

The 'low' and 'low and middle' income tax offsets continue this financial year. For the 'low and middle' income tax offset, tax payable will be cut by up to $1080. This will be applied automatically when you do your tax return, more information: www.ato.gov.au/Individuals/Income-and-deductions/Offsets-and-rebates/Low-and-middle-income-earner...

You may be able to claim additional 'work from home' tax deductions. The ATO have developed a 'short cut' method to make claiming easier: www.ato.gov.au/General/COVID-19/Support-for-individuals-and-employees/Employees-working-from-home/

If you're experiencing hardship due to COVID-19, you can withdraw up to $10,000 from your super account, deadline is 24 September 2020. Please remember though that $10,000 withdrawn now will potentially mean a lot more than $10,000 will be lost from your retirement savings nest egg, which may affect your standard of living in retirement, so think and seek advice before acting on this. First Home Super Saver and Loan Deposit Schemes. A further 10,000 applicant guarantees where the Federal Government covers mortgage insurance have now become available to first home buyers from 1 July 2020. This allows 5% deposits at lower cost. More information: www.nhfic.gov.au/what-we-do/fhlds/.
