Epping Scout Group, NSW BOATSHED GRAND OPENING!
A pleasure to be involved with the official opening of the Epping Scouts refurbished (brand new) boatshed at Meadowbank last weekend.
The Commonwealth tipped in $350,000 to help get the project over the line - from an exciting plan to a real construction project.
Ryde State Member Victor Dominello MP got the ball rolling early with seed funding from the NSW Government, thank you Victor!
Alan Cunningham did a fine job with project management, while Epping Rotary was also instrumental in assisting the renovation, thank you to them.
Epping Scouts Group Leader Peter Buckley should also be commended for driving this project from the very beginning, it is safe to say that there would not be a new boat shed if not for Peter, well done!
Scouts and boating provide adventure, leadership opportunity, skill development, self-reliance exposure, and positive peer friendship development for young people. I recommend the Scouts to you and your family if you're looking at options for your children.

NEW HIGH SCHOOL!
Gateway Community High are now enrolling for Year 9 and 10 in 2021.
It was my pleasure to visit them at 263 Marsden Rd Carlingford and find out more about how they'll serve our community.
It's run by the Macquarie Community College people, and will have 30 students initially.
It's directed at students who have not thrived or felt supported in mainstream education.
If you know of any family who may be interested, Gateway could be an option, so please let them know.
I wish them and their future students all the best for 2021!
