$6 MILLION TO SUPPORT LOCAL RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Two Bennelong based research projects have secured $3 million each in funding to further their impressive research goals.
The Macquarie Park based small/medium businesses are:

Glytherix, who are developing a new radioimmunotherapy treatment for hard cancer tumours; and

Clearbox Systems, who are developing a sensor network for integrated Space Traffic Management.

Supporting these local businesses is critical if Australia, and Bennelong, is to be a global leader in cutting edge technology and jobs creation in the future.

It is tremendous to see such ingenuity, we as a Government are determined to back such collaborative innovation and effort.

Since the first round of the Cooperative Research Centres Projects Program in 2016, the Government has committed over $314 million in funding to support 145 projects.

Today we have announced our $2 billion JobTrainer program, supporting Australians to be ready for the jobs and skills we’ll need as we come out of the COVID crisis.

In NSW, together with the NSW Government, we’re creating around 108,000 new training places to help school leavers and job seekers access short and long courses to develop new skills.

We're also expanding the wage incentive to help keep 180,000 apprentices in work, covering half of the wages paid to apprentices and trainees until March 2021.

This is all about looking forward and ensuring Australians get the training they need right now to get the jobs of the future.
